After a few more rounds of discussions with different people on the internet. It looks to me that the difference is still not clear to most people.

Let's see if I can do it better this time:

What is pseudo science claim? 

If you use “1+1=2” to justify something like “earth is flat”, these kind of claims are pseudo science claim. Do you agree?

For example, let’s look at one of the infamous pseudo claims in ASR: they claim “Hi-Res is useless” (aka “earth is flat” in my analogy above) by stating the fact that like “you won’t be able to hear higher than 22k Hz unless you are a Gray Moth” (aka “1+1=2”).

To make it clear:

they claim

"you cannot hear frequency higher than 22k Hz" (a fact)

== implies => 

"Hi-Res music is useless" 

Do you consider the above deduction is based on logical deductive reasoning?

Do you see the same (wrong) logical reasoning (for the "flat earth" argument) is applied for their claim above? If you don’t, I really feel sorry for you too. Feel free to live in your pseudo science world. I have no more to say.

For anyone who know well what is the difference between pseudo science and science, they know what’s right and what’s wrong in the above pseudo science claim.

I am just doing my best to help those people who got tricked by pseudo science claims.

BTW, do we really have to care WHO’s right and WHO’s wrong? Shall we care more WHAT’s right and WHAT"S wrong? :thinking: (<=== I know… I know… ASR forum does not support thinking there…ops… I mean the thinking icon.

Did they take out thinking intentionally or accidentally? I don’t know. Only the one who setup the site would know I think… ops, sorry again, I mean the thinking icon.

768kHz for digital music sampling? Can you hear 384kHz? You're crazy...

Do I want to hear up to 384kHz? LOL... of course not 😂 768kHz sampling is for something else... ( TL;DR ) The number one mis-understanding of why using Hi-Res music is:       " why we need to to hear frequencies that fall in the ultrasonic range (i.e. higher than 22kHz for most people)???" If you asked similar question or answered someone's question like below, then you are pretty much belong to a group of people who don't know what's Hi-Res music is. Hi-Res music is, in fact, to help your DAC to reconstruct better audio output for the audible range (yes, it is for the frequencies BELOW 22kHz with 768kHz sampling)... You should not hear it! It is your brain fooling you! Well... but... but... I really do hear it. This is the following up of the previous blog:  Confirmation bias. Do you have it?
